2015.

045hunt

On the eve of this New year.

Instead of making a list of resolutions this year, I am making a list of things I am thankful for and hope to continue to be thankful for into this new year. Yes I know Thanksgiving has passed. But, you see,  being thankful is an everyday thing. Everyday. Sometimes it is easy to get lost in the shuffle and begin to take the precious people, moments, and things around us for granted. I do not want that to happen in 2015 so I am starting the year off reminding myself what I am thankful for. So here it goes.

I am thankful for my precious son, John, who was born this year. I am thankful for his healthy pregnancy and smooth birth. I am thankful for every sleepless night. I am thankful for every gut wrenching cry he has made. I am thankful for his healthy hearth and lungs. For his very blue eyes. For his face that makes me melt every time I look at him. I am thankful for his love that he shows me. For every smile and noise he makes. I am thankful he is mine. Forever.

I am thankful for my spirited son, William. I am thankful for my eyes so that I can see his sweet face every morning. Even if I see it wayyyyy earlier than I am my tired eyes would like. I am thankful for his love for his daddy. I am thankful for this healthy, precious boy. I am thankful for his sweet voice. Olive eyes. Long eyelashes. His zest for life. I am thankful for his hugs and wet kisses. I am thankful for him. So so thankful for him.

I am thankful for all of the times I have wanted to pull my hair out and cry being a mama. Because my boys, these  boys of mine. They are my soul. They are my favorite things I have every done. Being a mother is the greatest blessing I have ever received and I hope I will be blessed with several more children.

I am thankful for my husband. For his love for me. For our bond that cannot be broken even when times aren’t so rosy. I am thankful for his support and for his love for his children. He is a wonderful father and I do not give him enough credit. I am thankful for his hard work while he is away from us. I am thankful for the life he has provided for us. I am thankful that we met. I am thankful for our 3 years of marriage. I am thankful he is my future.

Let 2015 be a year of constant thankfulness. A year of remembering the little things everyday. A year of embracing each moment. The plain and extraordinary ones. A year for thanking our lucky stars every day.

Happy New Year.
