HUNT HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

Well, it has definitely been a while since my very first Hunt House post way back in January (where has 2013 gone already?!?). Our house has been very “neat” the past few days so I figured it was good time to take some photos of the ole casa. The formal living room is one of my favorite spots in our charming little tudor home; but to be honest, it gets the least amount of love. We never go in here other than to walk through this room to get to the back of our house where we really “live.” Although, Charlie girl loves to sit on my nice couch and take her little afternoon naps. Hey, at least one of us uses the room…even if it is the dog. On our mantel is my great grandmother’s mirror and one of the most treasured wedding presents we received from one of Casey’s fraternity brother’s family. They had an artist hand paint the most beautiful flowers and design on our wedding invitation. It is amazing and definitely deserves a spot up on the mantel for everyone to see. Thank you Woody’s for our special gift!
Can we say glam-a-zon?! This is my grandmother’s wedding portrait and it is literally one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Her porcelain skin, youthful glow (I can tell it’s there even though the photo is black and white), and GORGEOUS gown. This portrait hung over a bed in one of my grand mother’s bedrooms and when she passed away my mom graciously got it for me because she knew it was my favorite thing of my grandmothers. I would have LOVED to have worn this dress on my wedding day but it turns out my grandmother actually borrowed this dress from another bride.  When she called to see if my mom could wear it for her wedding to my dad, the lady told her that she had thrown the dress away. That dress is definitely the most glamourous thing in dress heaven.
I love this coffee table and all of my books. Some of our most treasured pieces adorn this table.
Our entry way table. Please ignore the carbon monoxide detector down below….
